The Houses: > Burr > Everett > Orchard > Skipwith > Welsh > Gilson > College |
At Shiplake pupils become a member of one of the houses; Burr, Everett, Orchard, Skipwith and Welsh. The houses are at the heart of College life and there is a strong house spirit in evidence with competitions organised for arts, games and music. The houses are run by the Housemaster with assistance from the Matron and the tutor teams and underpin the pastoral care system at Shiplake. Weekly meetings provide an opportunity for all staff to be made aware of any pupils who may need extra guidance or support. The College is a Church of England school which welcomes pupils of other denominations and religions. An extensive programme of assemblies and worship takes place in the adjoining 12th-century parish church. The Chaplain is always on hand to support and advise pupils and their families and plays a full role in the life of the school and the wider community. |
