Welsh HouseWelsh House is set away from the College at the end of the drive which gives the boys the feeling of leaving school each day even though they are still on site. Welsh House is the weekly boarding house and the Housemaster, Alex Hunt, has been in post since September 2002. Alex teaches Design and Technology and is interested in golf, cricket and car restoration. Alex lives in Cedar Cottage, adjacent to Welsh House, with his wife Joanne and son Adam who was born in 2003. Working with Alex as Matron is Mrs Julie Knight, described by Alex as ‘fantastic!’. Julie runs regular BBQ and toastie evenings and is always on hand to sort out problems. In addition to Alex and Julie, Welsh has a tutor team to assist with the day-to-day running of the house. Welsh House has two dayrooms, a large kitchen, computing facilities and a games room with table tennis and table football. There is a tennis court adjoining the garden and a BBQ area where the very popular house barbeques are held. |
